Noteworthy Experience
- Regulatory compliance, documentation and contract negotiation for various domestic and foreign independent power projects, gas fired and wind powered.
- Compliance with Mexican regulations, obtained all governmental permits and approvals, handled immigration and labor union negotiations to allow filming of critical and complex scenes for the movie Pearl Harbor at the Fox Studios in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico.
- Formed foreign entities, prepared and negotiated distribution agreements and resolved disputes between manufacturer of petroleum based lubricants and foreign distributors.
- Handled all regulatory compliance, set up business structure, negotiated labor union agreements and handled customs issues in the U.S. and Mexico for several maquiladora operations owned by U.S. parent companies
- Handled various transactions for the acquisition by U.S. citizens of real property interests for residential purposes in the restricted zone in Mexico.
- Performed title searches in real property acquisitions for industrial and resort use in Mexico being sold or leased by Mexican ejidos governed by Mexico’s Agrarian Law.
- Assisted companies in fulfilling foreign requirements as a condition to submission of proposals in response to requests for proposals made by foreign governments.
- Assisted companies in preparing proposals in compliance with the conditions of the requests for proposals and governing foreign laws.
- Assisted Mexican state utility commission for the acquisition of U.S. government grant funding for feasibility studies to facilitate the obtaining of construction financing for multi-million dollar infrastructure projects.
- Represented parent company of a maquiladora operation in Tijuana in litigation concerning the breach of contract with the shelter operator.
- Represented a Mexican food stuffs production company defending against a claim for damages for product defect of goods imported into the United States.
- Represented a Mexican company in a breach of contract and fraud action against the seller of an aircraft.
