Mclntyre, a partner with Solomon Ward Seidenwurm & Smith, LLP, and a member of the San Diego County Bar Association's ethics committee, was recently appointed to the California State Bar's committee on professional responsibility and conduct. The 16-member committee is dedicated to assisting members of the California State Bar regarding ethical and professional standards of conduct.
McIntyre, who concentrates on business litigation and lawyer professional responsibility, will begin his three-year appointment on Sept. 28.
A standing committee of the State Bar Board of Governors, the committee on professional responsibility and conduct is tasked with the development and issuance of advisory ethics opinions to assist attorneys in understanding their professional responsibilities under the California Rules of Professional Conduct. Although not binding, the opinions have been cited in decisions of the Supreme Court, the State Bar Court Review Department, and the Courts of Appeal.
McIntyre has been practicing law for the last 37 years. His practice focuses on the prosecution of complex intellectual property and commercial cases for national and international corporations as well as issues of lawyer professional responsibility and malpractice.
